NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-23) to Minnesota Morris on Tuesday.
The Cougars entered the day atop the UMAC standings with an unblemished conference record and showed their quality early, hitting .346 and .357 in the first two sets on the way to taking a 2-0 lead in the match.
MLC made UMM work in the third set, recording 17 kills and hitting a match-high .353 in that game, but UMM weathered the storm and hit .531 on the way to securing the sweep.
UMM committed only eight errors and hit .419 for the match, while MLC hit .191 overall.
Kati Aguilar led MLC with nine kills, while
Rhianna Hunter finished with six kills and hit .556 on the attack for the match.Â
Camryn Biebert led MLC with 14 assists.
MLC fell to 4-21 on the season and 2-4 in UMAC play in defeat. UMM improved to 13-10 overall and 6-0 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, October 26, when they host Northwestern-St. Paul in a match scheduled to start at 12 p.m.
