MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team lost 74-60 at North Central on Wednesday.
The Knights battled on the defensive end, forcing 27 NCU turnovers and holding the Rams to 4-15 shooting from beyond the three-point line, but struggled on the offensive end.
MLC shot 27.2 percent from the field and had trouble finishing inside and outside. The Knights were out-scored 40-24 in the paint, and also went 4-25 from beyond the arc.
The Rams built a 34-25 lead heading into halftime, and pushed the lead to as many as 19 points early in the fourth quarter.
MLC battled back, cutting the deficit to 13 points on several occasions, but was unable to cut the deficit into single digits before the final horn.
Emily Witkowski was the lone MLC player in double figures with 16 points. She also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded a team-high four assists.
Ally Platzer added nine points, while
Cassandra Rose grabbed a team-best nine rebounds.
MLC fell to 0-10 on the season and 0-3 in UMAC play in defeat. NCU improved to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Friday, December 20, when they host Luther in a non-conference game scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m.
