ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College volleyball team dropped all three sets to St. Kate's by the scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-17 on Wednesday.
The Wildcats took control from the start, racing to a big early lead in the first set and never looking back the rest of the way.
St. Kate's finished the match hitting .225 on the attack, while MLC recorded a .000 attack percentage with 20 kills and 20 errors.
Jewel St. Germaine finished with a double-double with team highs in digs (13) and assists (11), while
Alyssa Heckendorf led the team with seven kills and an attack percentage of .294.
Kelsey Birschbach added five kills and two service aces for MLC, while
Kate Aswege finished with nine digs.
MLC fell to 0-5 on the season in defeat, while the Wildcats improved to 4-1 with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Friday, September 6, when they travel to UW-Oshkosh for a the first day of a two-day tournament. MLC will open the event with a match against Carroll at 5:30 p.m.
