Senior Exit Interview: Josh Tomlin

With games canceled, we're going to spend the next few months profiling our senior student-athletes who have finished their athletic careers at Martin Luther College.

Next up in the series is Josh Tomlin, who competed on the MLC men's basketball team from 2016-20.

Major: Elementary Education
High School: Luther Prep

What is your favorite moment/game from being an MLC athlete?
Jared Ruffin dunking in warmups freshman year. Didn't think he had it in him.

What was your best game/event as an MLC athlete?
Hitting a game winning three in the corner against Lakeland.

Can you describe a time when one of your teammates did something on the field/court that made you in awe or inspired you in some way?
Austin Denoyer continues to shoot even after he misses ten shots in a row. His confidence is amazing,

What is the funniest thing that happened (that you can share) while competing at MLC?
Ian "our best player" air-balling free throws on a daily basis.

Who is the best athlete you ever competed against in the UMAC? Why?
Luke Rothe in practice. Never thought I would get a chance to play with him but he was balling with one hand which is extremely impressive.

Is there a moment where something clicked for you where you thought "I've got this now" as far as being a college athlete?
I dunked in my last game in warmups.

What do you think you will miss most about being an MLC athlete?
The opposing fans. They would come at me in warmups and wouldn't stop the entire game. "Four eyes and goggles" were thrown at me at every away game.

What was your favorite road venue to play in? Why?
WLC. Close to home and nice gym.
