SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team was unable to complete the season sweep of UW-Superior in a 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-17) defeat on Saturday.
The Yellowjackets were in control from the opening serve as they cruised to wins in the first two sets.
In the third game, the teams were tied 15-15 until UWS won 10 of the last 12 points to finish off the sweep.
MLC struggled to get anything going in the match as it hit -.033 compared to .257 for the Yellowjackets.
Rhianna Hunter led MLC with six kills.
Kelsey Birschbach and
Lauren Paulsen each recorded five kills.
Kate Aswege led MLC with 14 digs.
MLC fell to 8-12 on the season and 7-3 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 9-13 overall and 7-3 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Friday, October 22, when they travel to Crown College for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
