MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team started slow and could not recover in a 96-59 loss at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) on Tuesday.
The Knights struggled on both ends of the court in the first half, shooting 35.5 percent from the field and committing 15 turnovers on offense while the Warriors shot 60.0 percent and scored 22 points off MLC miscues en route to a 59-31 halftime lead.
WLC slowed down offensively in the second half, but the Knights shot just 23.8 percent as the Warriors built on the lead and raced to the win.
Joseph Hirsch was the lone MLC player in double figures with 11 points, and also lead the team with five assists.
Micah Kieselhorst and
Nathan Spaude each grabbed seven rebounds.
The Knights fell to 0-7 on the season in defeat. WLC improved to 5-1 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, December 7, when it travels to Carleton College for a game scheduled to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
