Over the weekend of October 14 and 15, the Knights split, losing to UW-Superior in five (25-22, 13-25, 27-25, 19-25, 9-15) and beating Northland, 25-11, 17-25, 25-22, 25-19.
The Knights started the weekend with a match against the University of Wisconsin, Superior Yellowjackets celebrating the seniors. Knights volleyball recognized Rhianna Hunter, Hannah Willems, and Kylie Wolf for all of their hard work and leadership they have brought to the team.
In the opening set, the Knights took control, but with a sudden burst of energy from the Yellowjackets, the Knights could not come back in the second set. The Knights took a tough third set, but couldn't contain UW-Superior in the final two sets.
Lauren Paulsen led the Knights in digs (22) and kills (15) while Kylie Wolf had twenty-two assists.
On Saturday, the Knights celebrated Parent's Day while playing their last home game facing the Northland LumberJills. The Knights took down the LumberJills in four sets.
The Knights established dominance from the start with an 8-0 start. With that start, the Knights coasted to a 25-11 first set win.
Losing the second set, 17-25, did not stop the Knights from coming back and winning the final two sets and winning the match 3-1.
The leaders for the Knights in this match with twenty assists was Kylie Wolf, thirteen digs by Hannah Foley, and eleven kills by both Lauren Paulsen and Grace Kieselhorst.
The Knights now stand at 8-14 on the season and 4-6 in the UMAC. The Knights next host UM-Morris and Crown next weekend.
