Forest City, Iowa - The
MLC Knights traveled to Iowa to face the
Waldorf Warriors on Friday night, following a home loss against Hamline.The Knights led after each period and defeated Waldorf
64-55. MLC gained another stellar performance from
Lydia Feidt, who matched her season high in points (19) shooting 50 percent from the field. Feidt has now scored in double figures in four of the first five games of action in her freshman campaign.
Jordyn Heckendorf had her best all around game of the short season for MLC, posting season highs in points (12), rebounds (8), and assists (5).
The statistical advantage that proved to be the difference for the Knights came in points off turnovers. MLC cashed in on the Warriors' mistakes and scored 19 points in that area. MLC also shot well from the perimeter, shooting (7-of-15) 46.7 percent.
MLC (3-2, 0-0) doesn't play another game until after the Thanksgiving Break, when they play Waldorf again. The Knights will look to continue the same intensity on the defensive end of the court in addition to the opportunistic offense and efficient shooting that gave them the win on Friday.
