NEW ULM, Minn. - First-year Martin Luther College women's tennis player
Sarah Hoffe was named Honorable Mention All-UMAC by the conference on Wednesday.
Hoffe recorded a strong debut season for the Knights in 2022, finishing with a stellar 8-5 singles record to go with a 2-12 doubles mark.
Hoffe played mainly in the number-five singles position, where she went 7-4, but also went 1-0 in the fourth spot.Â
After a 1-3 start to the season, Hoffe picked up her play as the season progressed, winning seven of her eight matches starting with a non-conference win at Cornell College on March 31. In UMAC play, Hoffe finished 5-3 in singles and 2-6 in doubles.
Charis Glende and Josiah Wordell were named the MLC recipients of the Sportsmanship Award, which is given to one player on each team (male and female) who best exemplify sportsmanship during the season.Â
