The Knights went up against the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings on Tuesday, September 20 and lost in five sets (25-13, 25-17, 12-25, 23-25, 10-15).
The Knights came out strong in the first two sets with an impressive and strong lead. MLC had a strong twelve point lead in the first game and an eight point lead in the second match. In the first set, the Knights earned sixteen of their points with both Lauren Paulsen and Lydia Feidt with an attack percentage of .400.
The Vikings did not let it stop them in the sets to come. The Knights were not ready for the power the Vikings brought from the third set. The Knights ended with a loss of 17-25. The Knights brought back the fire in the fourth set but could not make ends meet losing 23-25.
It all came down to the fifth set. Both teams battled until the end. With a total of 41 attack attempts, only nine of them amounted to points. With rallys and intense plays, the Knights ran out of steam and the Vikings took advantage of it. With the Vikings coming on top in the set and winning the match with a score of 15-10.Â
The leaders  for digs was Lauren Paulson with eighteen, Grace Kieselhorst with sixteen assists, and Lydia Feidt with 10 kills.
The Knights play UW-Superior in Superior, Wisconsin at 7 p.m. on Friday.
