The Knights came with fire on Tuesday, September 27 against the North Central Rams in four (23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-14).
The Knights came to battle against the Rams with a back and forth battle at the start. Although the Knights played hard to start, they could not finish the set with a win. However, that did not stop the Knights from rallying back in the sets to come. In the second set, the Knights came out with fire. With hustle and heart, the Knights won the second set with a score of 25-19.
WIth the match tied at 1-1, the Knights did not let that get to them. The Rams were not able to contain the Knights' fire. With a total of twelve kills, the Rams could not compete with the energy of the Knights. The Knights won the third set with a score of 25-17 and they went on to finish the match with a score of 25-14 in the fourth set. The Knights kept the Rams at six kills in the final set. In that same set, the Knights had a 71% attack by set average.
The leaders for tonight's game in digs was Naomi Bridgemen with eighteen, twenty-five assists from Kylie Wolf, and thirteen kills from Grace Kieselhorst.
Head coach Emma Holzhueter had this to say about the win, "Even though we started slow, the team put in the hard work to build momentum in set 2. After that, we just stayed focused and aggressive for the remaining sets, and good things happened."
The Knights now have a record of 6-10 on the season. The Knights are back at it again on Saturday, October 1 at 1.pm. against Northwestern at Martin Luther College.
