Men's Golf Sits in Fourth After Day Two of UMAC Championship

Becker, MN - The Martin Luther College men's golf team stands in fourth place (674) after two days of the UMAC Championship played on the Pebble Creek Golf Course. The Knights put together a score of 344 on Thursday and improved their score by 14 strokes at 330 on Friday to leapfrog the Crown Polars.

UW-Superior firmly holds first place after shooting 301 and 315 through the two rounds.

Paul Frick and Sam Hansen are in a tie for 11th place in the individual standings for their two rounds of golf. Frick moved up from 19th overall on Thursday after shooting an 85 and shot a season-high of 79 on Friday. Hansen was in 21st yesterday with a score of 86, but like his teammate had a stellar second round of 78 to climb up.

Freshman John Martin led the pack in 14th, by shooting an 83 in the first round and only fell a few spots at 17th with a second round score of 85.

The Knights will look to crack the top three of the Championship, but will have their work cut out for them as North Central is ahead by 30 strokes at 644. Tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m. for the third round on Saturday, October 7.
