Becker, MN - The Martin Luther College golf team took
fifth overall out of the eight schools at the UMAC Championship through three rounds of golf. The men's team score was 1011, with 344, 330, and 337 in the three days. UW-Superior earned the top prize, finishing the tournament in 931 strokes (301, 315, 315).
The Knights had solid balance from an individual standpoint, with
Sam Hansen coming out on top for MLC, finishing in 10th overall out of 39 golfers. The sophomore shot 86, 78, 79 in the three rounds, as he improved his play in the final two rounds.
Paul Frick stepped up in the Championship play, coming in a three-way tie at 13th overall, after the senior shot 85, 79, and 72.Â
The men had another top 20 finisher in
John Martin. The freshman had a steady pace in the tournament and held firm in the mid-80's, shooting an 83, 85, and 87 for the three rounds.
Luke Latzke tied for 29th finishing in 268 strokes (90, 89, 89), while
Jordan Otto took 34th with a total score of 272 (92, 88, 92).

The UMAC Championship concludes the men's fall season, but the Knights will return to the green in the spring of 2024.
