Ashland, WI - The Martin Luther College volleyball team was swept 3-0 on the road by the Northland Lumberjills on Saturday. 

Northland opened up the match with a 25-15 win in the first set and then 25-16 in the second set, before finishing off the match with a closely contested 28-26 advantage in the third set.

MLC had 36 kills, 17 errors, on 132 attempts with .144 hitting percentage in the loss, but freshman Ella Walz finished out her freshman regular season with another impressive performance as a setter, dishing out 21 assists to lead the Knights.

Grace Kieselhorst notched a double-double for MLC and finished with 11 kills and 12 assists, while Naomi Bridgemen led the Knights defensively at the libero position with 13 digs.

MLC (8-18, 6-8) clinched their UMAC Tournament bid last night with Northland's loss. Even though the Lumberjills split the season series with the Knights, Northland will finish a tie for fifth with Bethany.

The Knights (No. 4 seed) will now get ready to face the (No. 1 seed) Northwestern Eagles for a third time this season, with the Eagles coming away with two victories. The match will be on Wednesday, November 8.

The other semi-final match will feature Minnesota-Morris (No. 2 seed) vs. UW-Superior (No. 3 seed). Times have yet to be announced for the semi-final matches.
