Eau Claire, WI - The Martin Luther College men and women cross country teams participated in the BluGold Invitational on Friday afternoon. The meet was hosted by UW-Eau Claire and both teams were up against many schools in the Midwest from various conferences. The men took
26th out of 30 schools with a final score of 766 points, while the women found themselves in
20th place out of 25 schools, finishing with 599 points.
The top Knight finisher for the men came from
Caleb Lash, who earned the 157th overall spot out of 264 runners. Lash crossed the finish line of the 8K with a time of 28:09.00, while he was joined shortly after by teammate,
Camden Sulzle, who had a mark of 28:35.40 (174th).
Josh Zander had the third fastest time for the MLC men and took 189th overall for his time of 29:03.00.
The MLC women were led in the individual ranks by
Maya Habben, who took 113th out of 248 women runners in the event. The junior finished the 6K with a time of 24:55.30, while
Claire Tomhave claimed the 142nd spot with her mark of 25:44.30.Â
Leah Nushart and
Hope Sulzle each received top 175 finishes with Nushart earning the 161st (26:09.60) and Sulzle (172nd, 26:27.00).
The Cross Country teams will take a week off before they return to action at the UW-La Crosse Invitational which will take place on October 14.
