MLC Cross Country Competes in Neubauer/Drews Invitational

La Crosse, WI - The Martin Luther College cross country team ran in the Neubauer/ Drews Invitational on Saturday morning hosted by UW-La Crosse. The MLC women competed in the 6K (16th) and the men (17th) in the 8K against 19 other D-III schools in the Midwest.

Jemimah Habben had the fastest time recorded in the 6K, coming in at 53rd overall out of nearly 300 runners in the event. The freshman had a time of 24:07.9, which was a season-best time for Habben. 

Katelyn Mensching was the next MLC runner to cross the finish line in the 6K, clocking in at 25:27.7 for 105th overall. Meanwhile, Hope Sulzle took 135th after a mark of 26:12.4.

Eliott Heiderich paced the MLC men in the 8K event, coming in at 128th overall out of 300 runners as well. The freshman had a time of 28:16.2, which was also a season-best for Heiderich. Micah Schibbelhut was about four seconds behind Heiderich, finishing with a time of 28:20.4, putting him at 130th overall. The pair of runners were joined by Daniel Ertman, who took 169th overall (29:05.2).

MLC cross country will now have a week off to gear up for the UMAC Championship on November 2. The conference event will take place in Winthrop, MN.
