Winthrop, MN - The Martin Luther College men's cross country team placed
second at the UMAC Championship on Saturday. The Knights scored a total of 73 points, which trailed only UW-Superior, who took first with 22 points. Northwestern came in third (87 points).
Senior
Micah Schibbelhut earned the fastest time out of any MLC runner, placing seventh overall (27:18.0) among 66 runners in the 8K.
Freshman
Eliott Heiderich clocked in with a time of 27:36.6 for the next MLC runner to cross the finish line. Heiderich placed ninth overall, while fellow freshman
Daniel Ertman took 16th after clocking in with a time of 28:34.4.
MLC had three additional runners place inside the top 30, with
Elijah Hutchinson coming in 22nd (29:06.2) and freshmen
Levi Panitzke (29:36.6) and
Jack List (29:44.1) coming in 28th and 29th, respectively.
With Saturday's result, MLC men's cross country has now finished second at the UMAC Championship in four consecutive seasons under head coach
Mark Weinkauf.
UMAC All-Conference will be officially announced on Monday morning.
