Women's Cross Country Places Third at UMAC Championship

Winthrop, MN - The Martin Luther College women's cross country team placed third at the 2024 UMAC Championship earlier this morning. The Knights had a total of 72 points which was behind UW-Superior (1st, 47 points) and Crown (2nd, 56 points).

MLC had two runners finish the 6K race in the top 10 out of 67 participants. Katelyn Mensching was the first MLC runner to cross the finish line, finishing sixth overall after clocking in at 24:20.7. Jemimah Habben followed after in eighth place (24:37.6).

Hope Sulzle came in 15th with a mark of 25:32.2, and Maya Habben joined her teammate at 16th overall (25:47.3).

Other top 30 results from the Knights came from Liberty VanDenHeuvel (27:11.7) who took 27th, while Alexandra Schroeder placed 28th with a time of 27:26.1 to further help MLC finish near the top half of the conference.

With Saturday's result, MLC has now finished in the top three of the UMAC Championship for the fourth consecutive season under head coach Breanna Olson.

UMAC All-Conference teams will officially be announced on Monday morning.
