New Orleans, LA - Samuel Plocher was announced as a First Team All-American by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday.

The accolade is one of many for the freshman jumper, as he has had previously been named USTFCCCA All-Region, UMAC Rookie of the Year, and UMAC All-Conference. The awards come especially after Plocher participated in the NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships this past Saturday and was one of 20 high jumpers in the event. Plocher cleared the 2.04 meter jump, becoming just one of eight student-athletes to achieve the mark.
