Watertown, WI - The MLC women's basketball team picked up a dominant
80-24 win over Maranatha Baptist on the road on Friday afternoon.
MLC wasted no time getting off to a fast start, scoring 19 unanswered points to open up the game. The Knights didn't allow a basket until over five minutes passed in the first quarter and took a 24-4 lead through 10 minutes.
MLC shot 50 percent in the second quarter to take a 47-12 lead at halftime and continued things in the second half when they cruised to victory.
The Knights scored a season-high 80 points and gave up a season-low 24 points against the Sabercats. MLC held Maranatha to just 21 percent shooting and didn't allow a made 3-pointer from the Sabercats.
MLC was active all game long as well, forcing 40 turnovers and scoring 53 points off of them.
Mya Morris led the team with 18 points and had three steals, while
Lydia Feidt finished with 14 points and four steals as the senior didn't miss a shot from the floor.Â
Wilhelmina Wenz put up 11 points, five rebounds, and recorded a career-best six steals.
MLC plays one more game before Thanksgiving, when they host St. Olaf College for a 5:30 p.m. game on Tuesday, November 25.
