Minneapolis, MN - The MLC volleyball team picked up a UMAC win over North Central on the road Friday evening, beating the Rams
3-2 (25-22,
25-15, 25-20, 25-23,
15-13).
Last month, the Knights secured a 3-0 victory against North Central at home and completed the season sweep in a tightly contested match. After the Rams edged out MLC by three points in the first set, the Knights answered with a commanding 25-15 win in the second set to even up the match. In the set, MLC had its best attack percentage of the season, hitting .368 on nine kills and just two errors.
MLC carried that momentum over into the third set and took that one 25-20, forcing North Central into many miscues. MLC was up by as many as 10 points in the set.
The fourth set could have gone in either direction as it went to the Rams 25-23 after North Central connected on 16 kills. The final set had a similar feel to it, but
Greta Nolte closed out the match with a kill, and the Knights left Minneapolis with a win.
Lydia Feidt led MLC in kills (13) and blocks (4), while recording a double-double with 19 digs as well.
Ella Walz had an impact on both ends of the court, finishing with a team-best 21 digs and second in assists (18).
Kourtney Zech also played an instrumental part in MLC's success as the freshman recorded a team high in assists (19) and aces (3).
Anna Kieselhorst (17 digs) and
Kiara Humann (11 kills) also reached double figures in their respective categories.
MLC will finish out the 2025 season with a home match on Saturday, November 8, at 1 p.m. against Northwestern.
