Collegeville, MN - The Martin Luther College indoor track and field teams competed at Minnesota State in Mankato on Friday and at Saint John's in Collegeville on Saturday.

The Knights went up against stiff competition on Friday against talented DII schools, but still held their own in some events as Samuel Plocher earned fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.33 seconds and tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters. Arthur Robinson finished 13th in the 200-meter, while Daniel Ertman took ninth in the 400-meter (52.03) and Micah Schibbelhut placed fifth in the 800-meter.

For the MLC women, Naomi Foley earned 11th in the 800-meter (2:30.89), while Jemimah Habben took ninth in the 1-mile run (5:23.05).

On Saturday, the MLC men's 4x200 relay team put a season-best mark of 1:30.94, placing second out of 17 schools in the event (mostly MIAC schools) and trailing just behind Concordia-Moorhead. Jeremiah Stanton, Stephen Wietzke, Lucas Holtz, and Robinson consisted of the four legs of the relay team.

Meanwhile, R.J. Perry had another strong showing in the shot put with a top throw of 14.30 meters and Stanton took fourth in the triple jump (13.22 meters).

The women were led by Jemimah Habben again on Saturday at Saint John's as the freshman hit a personal record in the 800-meter (2:27.97), which was good for sixth. Maya Habben clocked in at 6:01.76 in the 1-mile run, putting her at 13th.

The women's 4x400 relay team (Mariah Schultz, Foley, Marissa Buege, and Liberty VanDenHeuvel) had a season-best time of 4:35.85 for sixth.

Elise Nolte placed 10th out of 52 throwers in the shot put after a season-best mark of 11.24 meters and also finished in 14th for the weight throw (12.24 meters).

The MLC indoor track and field teams will be back at it next Friday, February 21, at 3 p.m. in Mankato for another meet at Minnesota State.
