Willmar, MN - The MLC men's and women's golf teams teed off the spring season this past weekend in the UMAC team match play.
All teams played in separate pods with two golfers squaring off against each other on Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12. Some notable results for the Knights included:
Benjamin Pearson and
Cooper Jensen tied for first place in the Augusta National Pod but lost in a scorecard playoff to Nate Halseth and Adam Thomas of Crown.
Pearson had the lowest 18-hole score among all competitors on Saturday, with a 72.Â
In the Pebble Beach Pod,
John Martin and
Luke Latzke beat Andrew Rude and Trevor Durfee of UW-Superior on Saturday to take third place.
Luke Krauklis and
Adam Loberger won their match on Friday against Kadyn Mulder and Noah Meyer of Bethany but lost their match against an North Central pairing on Saturday, earning second place in their Pinehurst #2 Pod.
Noah Walta was paired up with Seth Harteneck from Bethany, and they took third in their Hazeltine pod by beating Jacob Steinmetz and Nick Thompson of Minnesota Morris.
Titus Doletzky and
Jake Bigelow took fourth place in their Erin Hills Pod.
Myah Loberger and
Allyson Bullington took second place in their Whistling Straits Pod as Loberger had a PR score of 93 on Saturday.
Brenna Moore and
Alyssa Rogne finished third in their Whistling Straits pod.
MLC golf will be on the green again on Thursday, April 24, for the MLC Spring Invitational at the New Ulm Country Club. The meet will have a shotgun start time of 10 a.m.
