Minneapolis, MN - On Wednesday, the MLC men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Gary Wilson Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota.
The Knights faced their hardest competition of the season, numerous D-I and D-II schools, but they still had some notable results throughout the day.
Jemimah Habben broke the MLC women's record in the 1500m run at 5:00.67, breaking
Laura Otto's mark of 5:07.42 set back in 1998. The MLC women's 4x100m relay team (
Mariah Schultz, Hannah Rodmyre, Macie VanDenHeuvel, Naomi Foley)Â also broke the school record for their time of 51.69 seconds, passing the previous mark of 52.11 seconds set in 1996.
Stephen Wietzke hit a PR time in the 100m dash (10.96 seconds), putting him 11th overall out of over 50 runners in the event.
Daniel Ertman also hit a PR in the 400m with a mark of 50.78 seconds for 13th overall.
The 4x100 and 4x400 men's relay teams each took first, with the 4x100 team finishing in 43.08 seconds (
Matthew Hillmer, Lucas Holtz, Arthur Robinson, Wietzke), while the 4x400 squad ran their race for a season-best time of 3:27.10 (Hillmer, Robinson,
Micah Schibbelhut, Ertman).
In a couple of field events,
Samuel Plocher placed sixth in the high jump (1.95 meters), while Robinson earned fifth in the triple jump (13.00 meters).
