St. Peter, MN - The MLC women's outdoor track and field team performed well at the Drake Alternative meet hosted by Gustavus on Saturday. The Knights placed third with
78 total points, behind Gustavus (219) and Minnesota State (256).
MLC picked up two first-place finishes with
Jemimah Habben earning the top spot in the 3000m steeplechase (12:11.75). Habben also broke the school record in the event, previously held by her sister,
Maya Habben, who broke it in 2023 with a time of 12:18.99.
Elena Brauer also placed first in the javelin throw with a PR mark of 33.11 meters.
The Knights slotted a couple of second-place results in the 4x100m relay as the four runners, consisting of
Mariah Schultz, Hannah Rodmyre, Naomi Foley, and
Macie VanDenHeuvel continued their nice season with a mark of 52.16 seconds.
Sarah Felsing followed right behind Habben in the 3000m steeplechase with a mark of 13:15.18, while Rodmyre took third in the triple jump (10.15 meters) and
Rachel Groth placed fourth in the javelin (30.17 meters).
Elise Nolte took seventh in the shot put (10.60 meters) and had a pair of ninth-place finishes in the discus (31.86 meters) and hammer throw (37.99 meters - season best).
Ella Schlei took eighth in the shot put with a season-best mark of 10.18 meters and hit a PR in the hammer throw (36.08 meters) for 10th.
