Morris, MN - The MLC women's outdoor track and field team had a strong finish to the season, taking
third at the UMAC Championships this weekend. The Knights scored
127 total points, which was behind UW-Superior (135 points) and Crown, which took first with 142 points.
MLC had many impressive performances to get them to that spot, including four school records. Two of those records came way of relay races as the 4x100m relay team broke their own record time set over a week ago of 51.69 seconds. On Saturday,
Mariah Schultz, Macie VanDenHeuvel, Naomi Foley, and
Hannah Rodmyre ran it in 51.18 seconds, putting them in second.Â
The 4x400m relay team also broke the school record that was previously set in 2021 (4:18.62). Schultz, Rodmyre,
Sarah Felsing, and Foley clocked in at 4:16.30 to give them fourth in the event.
Jemimah Habben and
Elise Nolte followed the theme of breaking their school records as Habben finished the 3000m steeplechase in 12:03.94 for second, while Nolte also took second in the hammer throw with a heave of 41.30 meters. Habben previously broke the school record last week, while Nolte earned the hammer throw feat a season ago at the UMAC Championships.
Nolte would also claim second in the shot put with a mark of 11.67 meters, while
Madelinn Romsdahl placed fourth (11.27 meters). Romsdahl added a PR and meet record to her day with a mark of 39.26 meters in the discus for second.
Felsing took third in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 12:34.60, and
Ella Schlei received a pair of top-five performances in the high jump (3rd, 1.52 meters) and the discus throw (4th, 34.82 meters).
Other notable finishes came from Rodmyre, who placed fourth in the long jump (4.95 meters), triple jump (10.20 meters), and
Elena Brauer, who claimed fifth in the javelin throw (31.61 meters).
