Forest City, Iowa - The MLC men's soccer team continued its season on the road at NAIA school Waldorf University on Thursday evening. MLC would fall
5-1 to the Warriors.
Waldorf had a 15-7 edge in shots on goal and three players scored a goal for the Warriors, including two made by Vinzent Krieger and Jedidah Omoghan.
The Warriors made it 2-0 at halftime and put together another pair of goals within 10 minutes of the start of the second period to go up 4-0. The lone Knights' goal came courtesy of sophomore
Joseph Dretske, who made his first career goal at the 80th minute to make it 5-1. Fellow sophomore
Abraham Schlomer was credited with the assist on the play.
Five different MLC players got a shot on goal, including two by
Joshua Krenke.
Joshua Kallies got the start at goalkeeper instead of
Nicholas Russ and recorded 10 saves in 90 minutes played on the field.
MLC will have the weekend to rest up before they gear up for the start of conference play, which begins next Wednesday, September 17, at Crown. The game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
