St. Michael, MN - The MLC men's and women's golf teams competed at the Northwestern Invite on Tuesday in their season opener at Fox Hollow Golf Club.
All seven UMAC schools participated in the meet with an additional team (Carleton) playing on the men's side. The men placed
fifth, finishing the Par 71 in
316 strokes (+28), while the MLC women took
fourth in
430 strokes (+142).
Juniors
Luke Latzke and
John Martin were the top individual finishers for the Knights on the green, shooting in 76 strokes (+4), which put them in a T-13th overall.
Sophomores
Cooper Jensen and
Ben Pearson each finished in 82 strokes (+10) and ended in T-43rd overall.
The lowest score from the MLC women's team came via
Myah Loberger, who finished her day in 97 strokes (+25). The sophomore took 26th overall, while her teammate,
Chloe Berg, shot a 103 (+31) for a tie at 28th overall.
The MLC golf team will be back at it on Thursday, September 4, at 2 p.m. for a dual with Bethany for the Wittenberg (Men) and Saxony Cup (Women). The meet will be played at the New Ulm Country Club.
