Minneapolis, MN - The MLC women's basketball team bounced back from its loss in the final seconds to Bethany last Wednesday by beating North Central on the road,
67-51.
Wilhelmina Wenz had a big game with a career high of 22 points, while the guard grabbed nine rebounds for MLC.
Anna Kieselhorst also stepped up again, especially defensively, with a career-best six steals. Kieselhorst also finished with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Ava Stein was instrumental in the paint and picked up the first double-double of her sophomore season (12 points, 10 rebounds).
Ella Walz was the fourth member of the Knights to reach double figures, with Walz scoring 10 points.
Lydia Feidt added eight rebounds and two blocks on the defensive end.
MLC shot the ball well in the first half, shooting over 40 percent in each quarter of the half. MLC took a 35-25 lead at halftime, and while the Knights didn't shoot as well as they did in the first half, MLC was firmly in control of the game, with North Central never truly threatening to come back. The closest it would get was within seven points on multiple occasions.
MLC will look to add another W to the win column on Saturday, January 31, when they take on Northwestern.
