St. Paul, MN - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) awarded 702 academic all-conference awards to winter and spring sports student-athletes for excellence in the classroom, announced on Wednesday. The winter and spring sports total of 702 was the third-highest total in awards history.
Individuals who earn a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) or better during their respective semesters of competition get named to the team.
MLC had another large pool of student-athletes who were recognized for their academics in the winter and spring, asÂ
108 honorees from the Knights were on the list. That amount was third in the conference behind UW-Superior (127) and Northwestern (119).
MLC had the most team awards (4) in the UMAC, which calculates the highest overall team GPA. The Women's Basketball (3.65 GPA), Softball (3.71 GPA), Women's Tennis (3.91 GPA), and Men's Outdoor Track and Field (3.27 GPA) teams were the four highest totals from the Knights in the winter and spring seasons.
