ST. PAUL, Minn. - The left leg of freshman
Gabriel Nottling continues to be a weapon for MLC when called upon in the punting and kicking game.
Nottling's performance at Concordia (Wis.) on Saturday earned him the UMAC special teams athlete of the week award.
Of his six punts on the day, four of them went for 50-plus yards, including a long of 54. He also pinned the Falcon offense inside its own 20 three times.
"In a game with few bright spots for the Knights, Gabe's performance as a punter was outstanding," coach
Paul Huebner said. "He's really athletic with long levers and when his footwork and drop are accurate, he launches the football into orbit."
Through the first two weeks of his career, Nottling has boomed four 50-plus yard punts, four inside the 20 and forced three fair catches. He is also 4-for-5 on extra-point tries.
