MORRIS, Minn. - MLC volleyball acquitted itself well despite suffering a pair of sweep defeats on Friday evening at the University of Minnesota-Morris quadrangular.

The Knights lost to the hosting Cougars 25-22, 25-18, 25-20 in both teams' opening matches of UMAC play. They were tied late in the first set at 19-19 before Morris pulled away.
Freshman
Kenzie Loberger had another standout performance, leading the team with nine kills and also contributing 16 digs defensively.
Hannah Rodmyre went on a nice serving run near the end of the first set to claw MLC back into the match. She had a pair of aces to go with three kills.
Anna Kieselhorst once again led the defensive effort with 20 digs while
Ella Walz contributed 12 assists.
Buena Vista 3, MLC 0
The Knights started slowly in the second match of the night, but were competitive in sets two and three against the Beavers. It was the second time playing BVU in three matches.
Rodmyre's serving was once again a bright spot for MLC. The team scored seven points with Rodmyre serving in the second and third sets combined. She finished with two aces and two blocks.
Loberger led the Knights again with seven kills and two aces.
Ella Walz and
Kourtney Zech each had eight assists.
