ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - MLC volleyball once again struggled offensively as it was swept at Crown on Friday night.
The Knights finished the match with a .000 hitting percentage and only two of their hitters,
Kiara Humann and
Elsa Brauer, finished with positive hitting percentages. Both had six kills, Humann hit .040 and Brauer hit .087.
While MLC struggled, Crown capitalized, hitting .282 as a team, putting MLC behind 2-0 quickly. The Polars dominated the first two sets, winning 25-8 and 25-12, respectively.
The team had a chance to win the third set, for it had a 24-22 lead, but Crown scored two-straight points and ended up closing it out shortly after, 28-26.
Anna Kieselhorst was a bright spot for the Knights. The senior libero had a pair of aces to go along with 17 digs. She also was perfect from the service line and also perfect on 25 serve receive attempts.
The Knights are right back in action tomorrow at the St. Olaf-Carleton tournament in Northfield, where they'll play three matches.
