WINONA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost a pair of matches by the score of 9-0 to Saint Benedict and Saint Mary's Saturday at the Winona Tennis Center.
CSB 9, MLC 0The Knights lost the opening match of the day to Saint Benedict 9-0.
In doubles, CSB took the three matches by the scores of 8-1, 8-4 and 8-1.
In singles, the MLC line-up lost each match in straight sets.
SMU 9, MLC 0Host school Saint Mary's played the Knights in the second match of the day, and defeated MLC 9-0.
The top MLC team of
Acacia Foss and
Rachel Riediger dropped their doubles match 8-4, while the other two teams for MLC lost 8-3 and 8-2.
In singles, freshman
Sophia Birner took her number six match to a third set, but was unable to come away with a win in a 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 10-7 defeat.
MLC fell to 0-3 on the season following the two losses.
The Knights will return to action on March 31, when they open the UMAC portion of the schedule with a match at North Central.
