RESULTSLAKEVILLE, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team earned its first win of the season with a 9-0 sweep of North Central at the Lifetime Fitness Center on Thursday.
The Knights opened the match with a 3-0 sweep in doubles. The top team of 
Acacia Foss and 
Rachel Riediger won 8-3, and the other two teams of 
Elizabeth Broring and 
Sophia Birner, and 
Charis Goelzer and 
Mateja Epple, won their matches 8-0.
In singles, MLC won all six in straight sets. Foss, Riediger and Broring won in the top three spots, while Goelzer, 
Melissa Stibb and Birner took care of the final three matches to secure the sweep.
MLC improved to 1-4 on the season and 1-0 in UMAC play with the win. NCU fell to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in league play in defeat. 
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Friday, April 1), when they take on St. Scholastica in a match that was moved (due to weather) to Gustavus. That match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
