MLC Men Lose 7-2 against CSS

RESULTS

ST. PETER, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost to St. Scholastica 7-2 on Friday night at the Swanson Tennis Center.

The Knights' first point came in doubles play, where the number three team of Ethan Schultz and Nicolas Gartner scored an 8-4 win. The win was the third for the duo this season in doubles, and the second straight in conference play following last night's doubles win against North Central.

Schultz accounted for the second MLC point, winning his number six singles match in three sets by the scores of 1-6, 6-4, and 11-9. Gartner also played his match to a third set, but lost that final set tie-breaker 10-8.

MLC fell to 0-6 on the season, and 0-2 in UMAC play, following the loss. CSS improved its record to 6-6 overall and 3-0 in conference play wih the win.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 5, when they travel to Wartburg College for a match scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
