Storm Lake, IA - The MLC men's tennis team went on the road with a good opportunity to get a win in its final match of the season at Buena Vista.
After the Beavers took two out of three doubles matches to secure one point, Buena Vista claimed three additional points in singles play to edge out the Knights
4-3 on Tuesday.
All of the singles matches were competitive in most of the sets being played.
Johannes Bourman picked up a win in No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-1, while
Eli Stern won in a third set tiebreaker 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) in No. 2 singles.
Isaiah Scharf came very close to earning another one in favor of MLC, but his No. 3 opponent got past him 6-7, 6-3, 0-1 (1-10).
In No. 4 singles,
Matthew Koelpin took his match 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5) in another back-and-forth match. However, Buena Vista earned two more points with wins in No. 5 and No. 6 singles to beat out MLC.
