NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team won its match against North Central 7-2 on Saturday.
The Rams only had five players in the match, meaning they were forced to forfeit the number three doubles and number six singles matches.
MLC was able to gain a pair of points in the two doubles matches, as the number one team of
Justin Marshall and
Justin Steinke won 8-3, and the number two team of
Josh Koelpin and
Philip Schroeder won 8-4.
In singles, the Rams won the numbers one and three matches, but Steinke, Koelpin and
Nicolas Gartner each won in straight sets to seal the team victory.
MLC improved its record to 3-10 overall and 3-4 in UMAC play with the win. NCU fell to 3-9 on the season and 3-7 in league play in defeat.
The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 26, when they host Northwestern in a match scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
