NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team swept North Central 9-0 on Saturday.

The Knights lost only two games during the entire match, as the numbers one (Acacia Foss and Rachel Riediger) and two (Mateja Epple and Charis Goelzer) doubles teams opened play with 8-0 wins.

In singles, Foss and Riediger won their numbers one and two matches 6-0, 6-1. The other three players (Goelzer, Elizabeth Broring and Melissa Stibb) won their matches 6-0, 6-0.

The Rams only had five players available for the match, so the Knights won the number three doubles and number six singles matches by forfeit.

MLC improved its record to 4-8 on the season and 4-3 in UMAC play with the win. NCU fell to 0-13 overall and 0-10 in conference play in defeat.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 26, when they host Northwestern in a match scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
