NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost its match 8-1 against Northwestern on Tuesday

MLC scored its only point in doubles, as the third team of Nicolas Gartner and Ethan Schultz won their match 8-5. The other two MLC teams lost 8-0 and 8-4.

In singles, Schultz was able to extend his number six match to a third set, but lost 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8). The other five matches were won by UNW in straight sets.

The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced earlier in the day that MLC has already clinched a spot in the conference postseason tournament, which is scheduled to take place on May 6 and 7. 

MLC will return to action tomorrow (Wednesday, April 27) when it travels to Bethany Lutheran for a match scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
