MLC Men Lose 7-2 at BVU

RESULTS

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost its match at Buena Vista University on Thursday by the final of 7-2.

The Beavers only had five players at the match, so MLC was able to take points in number three doubles and number six singles due to forfeit, but BVU was able to sweep the other seven points to earn the win.

BVU started strong, winning the two doubles matches 8-0 and 8-0.

In singles, the Knights made it tough in the bottom half of the lineup, as Nicolas Gartner (6-2, 2-6, 10-6) and Ethan Schultz (6-4, 6-7, 7-2) took their numbers four and five matches to a third set, but neither was able to break through with a win to earn a point.

MLC fell to 0-8 on the season in defeat, while BVU improved its record to 2-14 with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, April 9, when they travel to St. Scholastica for a match scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
