Men Finish Regular Season with Loss to BLC

RESULTS

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team finished the regular season with a 7-2 loss against Bethany Lutheran College on Tuesday.

The Vikings jumped out to a strong start, winning the three doubles matches by the scores of 8-0, 8-5 and 8-3.

MLC fought back in singles, as Josh Koelpin (number four) and Ethan Schultz (number six) won their matches in straight sets, but the Knights were unable to score points in any other match. Koelpin's win came by the score of 6-3, 6-0. Schultz won his match 6-1, 6-0.

With the loss, the Knights finished the regular season 3-13, and the conference season 3-7. BLC improved its record to 8-15 overall and 6-4 in league play with the win.

The Knights now move on to postseason play, where it will play conference-champion St. Scholastica in the first round of the UMAC Championships on Friday, May 6. That match is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m.
