WINONA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team opened the season with a 9-0 loss to Saint Mary's at the Winona Tennis Center on Friday.

The Knights started the match in doubles, losing all three matches by the score of 8-4. Both Caleb Koelpin and Evan Willick made their collegiate debuts in the number three doubles match.

In singles, the Cardinals won all six matches in straight sets. Josh Schroeder made his collegiate debut in the number three spot, while Justin Marshall, Justin Steinke, Josh Koelpin, Nicolas Gartner and Ethan Schultz each returned to their spots in last year's line-up.

MLC will return to action on Saturday, February 4, when it travels to Leonard Center to take on Macalester in a match scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
