Hemmelman Scores Two Points in 6-3 Defeat at BVU

RESULTS

STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost its match at Buena Vista University on Monday by the final score of 6-3.

First-year player Anna Hemmelman teamed with junior Rachel Riediger to score the first MLC point as the Knights won the number one doubles match 8-2. The Beavers took the other two doubles matches by the scores of 8-2 and 8-4.

Hemmelman added a second point in number one singles, winning her match in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5). Morgan Shevey scored the other point for the Knights with another three-set win by the scores of 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-1). First-year player Molly Paggi also took her number six match to three sets, but lost in the final set. 

Buena Vista improved its record to 1-1 the spring season with the win, while MLC dropped to 0-4 in defeat.

MLC will return to the court on March 18 when it plays North Central University at Lifetime Fitness Center. That match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
