ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team lost 8-1 at Macalester in its second match of the season on Saturday.

Rachel Riediger scored the only point for MLC with a three-set win in number two singles by the score of 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (10-1).

The Scots opened the match with three wins in doubles by the scores of 8-0, 8-2 and 8-6.

In singles, Macalester won the other five matches in straight sets.

MLC fell to 0-2 on the young season in defeat, while Macalester opened its season 1-0 following the win.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, February 11, when it plays St. Catherine. That match is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. at Baseline Tennis Center.
