ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost its match at Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday by the final score of 7-2.
Josh Koelpin and
Ethan Schultz accounted for the two MLC points with three-set singles wins. Koelpin won his number four singles match by the score of 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (10-6). Schultz came from behind to win his number six singles match 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8).
The Eagles were able to take the other four singles matches in straight sets, and also won the three doubles matches by the scores of 8-1, 8-4 and 8-1.
MLC fell to 2-9 on the season and 1-6 in UMAC play in defeat. UNW improved to 10-14 overall and 5-2 in leage play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Wednesday, April 26, when they host a non-conference triangular against Minnesota Morris and Buena Vista. The first match will be against UMM, and is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
