Men Fall 6-3 to UNW

RESULTS

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team lost its match against Northwestern (Minn.) 6-3 on Saturday.

The number three doubles team of Justin Steinke and Ethan Schultz earned the first MLC point with an 8-1 win, but the Eagles won the other two doubles matches 8-0 and 8-4.

In singles, the bottom half of the line-up provided a boost. Nicolas Gartner won his number five singles match 6-3 and 6-3, while Schultz won in number six singles 6-1 and 7-6 (7-3).

MLC fell to 2-5 on the season and 1-2 in league play following the loss. UNW improved to 8-12 overall and 3-1 in conference play following the win.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, April 11, when they host Bethany Lutheran College in a match scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
