Men Win Home Finale 5-4

RESULTS

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team won its final home match of the season on Tuesday against Buena Vista by the final score of 5-4.

The Beavers won the top seeded doubles match, but MLC got the best of the session thanks to 8-2 wins by the number two team of Justin Steinke and Nicholas Gartner, and also the number three team of Josh Schroeder and Caleb Koelpin.

In singles, the Beavers once again took the top two matches, but Phil Schroeder, Gartner and Evan Willick each won in straight sets to secure the team win for the Knights.

MLC improved to 4-9 on the season with the win, while BVU fell to 3-22 in defeat.

The Knights will return to action on Friday, May 5, when they play in the semifinal round of the UMAC Tennis Championships against St. Scholastica. That match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at Baseline Tennis Center.
