NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team will take on St. Scholastica in the semifinal round of the UMAC Tennis Championships on Friday, May 5.
The Knights finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-9, including a 2-6 conference record that was good for fourth place in the final standings.
That finish earned them a spot in the conference tournament, where they will face St. Scholastica. The Saints earned their 21st consecutive UMACÂ regular season championship following a perfect 8-0 conference record to go with an impressive 18-1 overall record.
The two teams met twice this season, with the Saints coming out on top in both matches by the scores of 7-2 (March 24) and 8-1 (April 21).Â
The Knights earned points in the back half of the singles line-up in both matches.
Ethan Schultz won both number six singles matches against the Saints, while
Nicolas Gartner won his number five singles match in the first meeting between the two teams in late-March.
