Men Win Third Straight

RESULTS

OWATONNA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team earned its third straight win by defeating Minnesota Morris 7-2 at Owatonna Tennis Center on Tuesday.

The Knights opened the match with a 2-1 lead thanks to a pair of doubles wins. The number two team of Josh Koelpin and Joel Koelpin battled to win their match 9-7, while the number three team of Nicolas Gartner and Josh Schroeder earned an 8-2 win.

In singles play, the Knights won five of the six matches in straight sets to secure the overall team win. Ethan Schultz joined the Koelpin brothers, Gartner and Schroeder in the winner's circle for those five singles wins.

MLC improved to 3-4 on the season and 2-0 in UMAC play with the win. UMM fell to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in league play in defeat.

The Knights are scheduled to return to action on Friday, April 13, against North Central.
